Block Party

I’ve been saying for months now that I wanted to have our neighbors over for a meet and greet.  There are only eight units in our building, and considering we all moved in on the same day we’re all the new kids on the block.  There’s no old lady who’s been here her whole life; we’re all starting out at the same point.

But after going six weeks without heat/hot water/gas the holidays came upon us full speed ahead.  So the party never happened.  Finally, the holidays were officially over so we sent out an invite to the neighbors and Sunday night they all showed up.  Well, everyone except one apartment.  Way to make yourselves outcasts, 1B.

We had such a great time getting to know our new neighbors.  Since every unit in the building is a one bedroom they’re all young couples like ourselves.  I never got around to taking any pictures, but you’re going to have to take my word for it that I made quite a spread.  Oreo truffles, buffalo chicken dip, homemade jalapeno bacon poppers and antipasto (to name a few).  Everyone kept saying, “You did all of this?  You made this!!?”  I like party planning, OKAY?

Since I can’t share any photos from my awesome party I’ll go ahead and share a picture of these caramel filled devils food cookies (topped with sea salt) I made for New Years.  Now these kicked butt.
