A Modern Day Baby Shower

Saturday we had a baby shower for the very first grandchild in our family.  My sister is due with a baby girl in just two weeks, and we are all over the moon.

The shower was a tad nontraditional in that there was no mother to be in attendance.  My sister lives about as far away she can, all the way around the world in New Zealand.  So we had to improvise and Skype her into her shower.

The shower was really wonderful.  We ended up having everyone open their own gifts, which turned out to be really fun.  Each person got a little face time with the mom-to-be and got to show off the gift they’d brought.  It was so sweet to see how much thought went into each gift.

I think the picture of The Twinsies shows just how much fun we all had.  This little girl is already so loved by people all the way around the world.

  1. Looks like tons of friends and family fun, and your twinsies look so cool! 🙂 Thank god for skype, it’s great it can bring people closer like this…

Please check out my friend’s nursery prints store at etsy.com. That, by the way, would be a great gift to show off ^_^
