Okay last baby post. At least for this week.
I’ve been getting a lot of the same questions so I figured I’d wrap up all the answers in one post and then I promise to not talk baby for at least another two days. Here we go:
1. You live in a one bedroom apartment. Will you be moving?
No. In fact, we’re re-signing our lease this month. Since I originally moved to New York eight years ago I have moved every.single.year. It’s stressful and it’s frustrating and if you remember finding an apartment with a big dog is close to impossible. So since we love our apartment, the location and our landlords we’ve decided to stick it out one more year. That means we’ll only be in the the one bedroom situation with a baby for about 6 months. There’s plenty of room in our bedroom to add a crib, and we’ll add some extra storage to the living room area. I’m actually excited about the design challenges this will bring.
2. So when are you due?
I’m due in the beginning of March. Which officially puts me in my second trimester. Woo hoo!
3. Are you going to find out the sex of the baby?
Heck yes! We have our “initial screen” in 3 weeks. Then they do a follow up a month later. Basically, I go to a ton of doctor appointments.
4. How’s Brady doing?
We’ve gotten a surprising number of questions about Brady. Yes, he is definitely a spoiled only child. But we’re certain he’s going to do just fine with his new role as big brother. He definitely senses that something’s different about me. He’s been much more sensitive around me, waits for me every couple of stairs (instead of running to the top like he normally does), snuggling more with me on the couch.
We’ve also told him that we don’t need to buy new toys for the baby because he certainly has enough to share. He didn’t think that was very funny.
5. How are you feeling?
Great, actually. There were about two weeks in the first trimester where I couldn’t keep my eyes open, but besides that I’ve had almost zero pregnancy symptoms. If my doctor hadn’t reassured me about 700 times that there really is a healthy baby in there I’d start to wonder.
Thanks again to everyone for their kind words. It makes us feel so great to know how many people will love this little bean. Our doctor may have used the word “perfect” to describe bean after our last appointment. We definitely agree.
